Charity Fundraising Intern
About the Job
Looking for an outgoing, extremely motivated individual to intern in our Manhattan office. Intern will work primarily with the charity fundraising department. Tasks include: staffing and working charity events (up to 4 per week), recruiting new charities, creating bid sheets, related office work, and also helping out our retail and wholesale staff with other projects. Travel may be required, but rarely alone. Knowledge of sports a plus, not a requirement. THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP. Hours are typically 9am-5pm, however, hours are flexible, as some events run until 1am, and you will not be expected to be in at 9am the next morning. COMPANY BACKGROUND: We are a full service provider of 100% hand-signed memorabilia from the smallest to biggest names in sports and entertainment. We exclusively represents both the 1980 USA Miracle on Ice hockey team, as well as soccer legend Pelé, for all memorabilia engagements, and has also conducted private signings with many star athletes, including Vince Carter, Ted Williams, Andy Roddick, Jake LaMotta, Freddy Adu, and 2002 Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hughes. CHARITY FUNDRAISING: Our Charity Auction division participates in more than 300 events annually that benefit organizations ranging from private foundations to the NFL Players’ Alumni Association. We will arrange all aspects of the auction, from products to bid sheets and credit card payments. We are also happy to arrange consignment auctions, where the items simply get mailed to you with everything included to help you set up and run a successful auction in only a few minutes! If an item does not sell, we will gladly take them back, ALL AT NO COST TO THE ORGANIZATION!
