A great opportunity for a researcher experienced in media sales support to build on their career in the exciting and fast-changing world of online media. This position provides an opportunity to manage and conduct a wide range of research (primary, syndicated, and secondary) to support the Sales and Integrated Marketing teams of CBS Interactive and its digital brands including CBS.com, CBSNews.com, CBSSports.com, CNET.com, GameSpot.com and TVGuide.com among others. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in ad sales research in the digital media field.

You will be a trusted advisor and partner to our Sales team telling the CBSi story behind the scenes and in the field presenting findings and insights to clients. An enthusiasm for finding answers and solutions for our internal and external clients, and an outgoing personality are key. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Support sales and Integrated Marketing with the development of strong positioning stories to highlight the value of the CBS digital and cross-platform audience
  • Help craft engaging and client ready research-based sales materials that tell the story of our audiences and network
  • Approve, manage, and conduct ad effectiveness studies
  • Present findings and results to clients
  • Train Sales and Integrated Marketing team members on research processes and studies/findings
  • Understand the cross-platform ad space, develop a deep understanding of cross-platform measurement and its implications for CBS Interactive
  • Build relationships with peers to share information and improve processes.
  • Depending on level may manage analyst and contribute to product research initiatives
  • Manage ad effectiveness studies from inception to completion, including data analysis and the creation of reports and presentation materials
  • Act as point person for all research and measurement materials included in annual upfront presentations
  • Gather and report intelligence on competitive landscape, clients, and digital trends

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -
  • 5-7+ years of relevant ad sales research experience, preferably in streaming video space
  • BA or BS or higher (concentration in social science, media research, or data/analytics a plus)
  • Have a solid understanding and use of software applications to extract TV and digital data from primary and syndicated sources including the Nielsen Suite, Fusion data, NPower, Adobe Analytics, comScore and MRI among others
  • Experience and familiarity with how digital ads are sold and monetized
  • Experience with digital and/or cross-platform ad effectiveness studies
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Organized, self-driven and comfortable working in a fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders at all levels
  • Skilled in preparing and presenting effective presentations with clear narrative and impactful graphics
  • Must be able to set project priorities, manage internal clients, as well as independently self-manage and organize

  • Familiarity with digital ad currency tools such as Nielsen DAR and comScore vCE
  • Familiarity with cross-platform measurement tools such as comScore Extended Screen, Nielsen TCR, etc.
