Job Description
The Associate Director of Athletics for Business will report directly to and collaborate extensively with the Deputy Athletics Director on maximizing fiscal responsibility and be responsible for the preparation, management, administration of department's long-term and daily financial activities. Responsible for ensuring compliance with NCAA, IRS, University and Department policies in the areas of business and finance. Oversight of annual NCAA and EADA submission and reporting

Provide leadership and strategic direction in development and modification of department's financial and administrative policies and procedures as well as to the business office staff and all daily financial activities of the department. Develop and maintain department-wide forecast model as well as short term and long-term programmatic financial business plans. Develop and disseminate straightforward and comprehensive financial reports and facilitate units in financial and business planning with a goal of maximizing revenues and minimizing costs. Identify and monitor external and internal factors influencing the organization's mission and goals. Plans for financial and non-financial resources required for the organization to achieve its goals. Collaborate with budget office and leadership to prepare and support annual university Corporation Budget process. Responsible for timely and accurate budget input and adjustments for all operating sources of funds. Create budget narrative and assist with annual presentation to leadership. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to provide reasonable assurance of effective and appropriate resource use, accurate financial information, adherence to contractual obligations and agreements, policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements and reporting. Identify, communicate, address, and/or escalate risks in a timely and appropriate manner to protect the assets, resources, information and reputation of the organization and the University. Ensure all staff understand and comply with the relevant regulations and requirements as they pertain to their scope of activity. 9. Advise and collaborate with campus partners on all financial matters, planning, reporting, etc. Oversee business office staff.

Bachelors' degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Master's Degree preferred. At least 3 years of experience in athletics collegiate setting and/or equivalent

Thorough working knowledge of finance, fund accounting, and financial reporting analysis; Demonstrated ability preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; Integrating multiple complex pieces of financial information to identify themes, trends, and issues; Expertise in a highly regulated organization

Well-developed managerial, decision-making, planning, organizational, problem-solving, supervisory and leadership skills; Demonstrated ability to manage people on a day-to-day basis and inspire a high level of commitment, professionalism and performance; High-level strategic planning skills; Visionary with ability to influence.

Ability to generate a strategic vision and to influence people to achieve this vision; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to adapt communication style to address the needs of individuals throughout the University.

Ability to negotiate skillfully with both internal and external constituents; Ability to anticipate changes in the business environment and proactively manage change; Strong computer skills including Excel; Solid understanding of internal control concepts and the implementation of internal control systems in a complex business environment
