Moberly, Missouri is growing a City with nearly 14,000 residents with additional residential and business growth on the horizon. Moberly has a progressive local government focused on growth and quality of life, a strong school system, two local colleges, golf course, and active community organizations from the YMCA and the library to the 4 th Street Theater and Moberly Council on the Arts.
The City of Moberly Parks and Recreation Department has an approximately $2 million annual budget supported primarily by dedicated local taxes (sales and property) which have strong community support. The Department has a supportive nine member administrative Board, nine FT employees, and approximately 60 PT or seasonal employees.
The park system includes six parks with the 465 acre Rothwell Park being the crown jewel and featuring a wide range of amenities including an athletic complex, aquatic center, one-mile-long miniature railroad, two lakes with boat ramps and fishing docks, 3 miles of asphalt trails, 2.5 miles of nature trails, a wilderness area, disc golf, tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, and numerous other amenities!
Moberly Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for the position of Recreation Supervisor which will oversee the Moberly Aquatic Center, Concessions operations, and develop Department events. This is a Full-time position with benefits.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's in Parks and Recreation or related field, 2-3 years experience in aquatic management required. Must be a highly motivated and organized professional, have strong communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with recreation software and concessions preferred. Desired certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid, Starfish Swim Instructor, and Starguard, or ability to obtain within 6 months. Instructor certifications preferred. Starting range $15.92-$23.87/hour DOQ.
