Property Description Sand Valley Golf Resort is the latest golf venture to be developed by Mike Keiser. The project is led by Managing Partner, Michael Keiser Jr. Much like the other Keiser properties Bandon Dunes and Cabot Links, Sand Valley is a high-profile, one-of-a-kind golf project certain to become one of the great golf destinations in America. Located in central Wisconsin, one hour north of Madison in the town of Rome, Sand Valley Golf Club is situated among 80,000 acres of prehistoric lake bottom in the Sand Barrens region of the state. When complete, the entire development will cover 1,480 acres of previously wooded timber land owned by the Plum Creek Land Company. 2017 was the Grand Opening year for Sand Valley, and 2018 the official opening of the second golf course, Mammoth Dunes by David Kidd, and a 17 hole short course by Coore & Crenshaw. In addition to golf courses, over-night accommodations, food and beverage outlets, hiking trails, grass tennis courts and other outdoor activities are available. The focus at Sand Valley will be one of uncompromising quality in every aspect. From course layout and condition, to food and beverage offerings, to every detail in the golf operation and overnight rooms, this project will sustain the culture and reputation of unparalleled customer service and great guest experiences begun by KemperSports at Bandon Dunes. Position Summary Sand Valley Golf Resort is seeking a Tournament Coordinator. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Director of Golf, Director of Reservations, and Conference Coordinators to ensure a seamless, customer service driven operation at Sand Valley Golf Resort. This position will be heavily focused on groups and tournaments of the resort. This position will also oversee the operations at The Sand Box, our 17-hole par 3 golf course. This is a hands-on position that will ensure the highest standards of service and will be the lead for tournament operations including; schedule development, marketing, promotion, course set-up, rules officiating, scorecards, committee liaison, starting and scoring, groupings and starting times, reporting summary event wrap up. The Tournament Coordinator will actively reach out to all incoming groups to offer tournament services. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Administrative

  • Develop annual tournament schedule
  • Develop and maintain database of outside groups and contacts
  • Compile reports, budgets, projections and revise procedures as needed
  • Develop a list of required resources including personnel, supplies, signage, rental equipment etc.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure budget goals are met
  • Develop, update and maintain “Event Book” detailing, tasks, time lines, responsibilities, contacts and historical record
  • Assist with groups and the reservations department, particularly during the off-season and shoulder season months. Committee
  • Act as point person on all tournament related issues including; marketing, contracts, event administration and resource management
  • Attend committee planning meetings
  • Responsible for starting and scoring administration
  • Responsible for signage on site and assists in set up of same
  • Supervises day-to-day operations of events
  • Responsible for coordinating “team” meetings to prepare for events and activities related to each event Facility
  • Oversee the Sandbox Operations. Staffing, scheduling, training, pace of play, guest experience.
  • Be a key player in overseeing the bag drop area. Providing an exceptional guest arrival/departure experience.
  • Coordinate food and beverage and set up requests with Food & Beverage Manager
  • Coordinate tee gifts, prizes and certificates with Merchandise Manager Experience, Skills & Traits
  • Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. Email, Internet. Will be trained in Tournament Software
  • Experienced in tournament operations and Rules of Golf
  • Calligraphy skills a plus to enable the creation of signage, score sheets, etc.
  • Experienced in public relations and public speaking
  • Experienced in written and oral business communications
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
  • Self-motivated with desire to promote tournament services to all incoming groups
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all constituencies
  • Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
  • Update and maintain policies/procedures and job descriptions for areas of supervision and direct reports. Ensure they are adhered to and posted in the proper areas.
  • Support the DOG and Head Golf Professionals with all activities of the golf operations including outside services, hotel transportation, guest services, practice facility, and caddie services.
  • Greet guests, visitors and vendors in a genuine, helpful and friendly manner.
