Community Relations Intern The Community Relations intern will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of that department and working closely with the Community Relations Director. Duties will include coordinating and attending mascot appearances, setting up and attending school assemblies, assisting with our wide variety of community outreach programs, helping to coordinate all charity events at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Responsibilities include:

  • Community Appearances – communication, organization and execution of these events including but not limited to: Prospect and schedule our team mascot /street tour team. Actively seek and fulfill new events/parades/appearances. Maintain schedule and fulfill non-profit organizations, school and client mascot requests.
  • Online donations – all communication, organization and execution of online donation requests ; generating those responses within one - two weeks of request and execution of mailing tickets
  • Research in regards to on field games, promotional ideas; assist with execution of on-field promotions during games.
  • Assist with leading the part-time promotions staff
  • Assist with updating daily game script
  • Prospect for our Hit the Books Program – in coordination with manager, working to enhance the overall program. With a focus of obtaining redemption goals.
  • Prospect Color Guards and Hometown Hero, along with other groups – produce sales and generate leads
  • Assist with event operations as assigned
  • Assist and implement grass roots marketing plans
  • Assist with other programs that Director see fit Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work long hours including holidays, weekends and weeknights.
  • Must be able to pay close attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills, including ability in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Must have completed at least two (2) years of college credits and working toward a degree. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • The intern must present themselves in a professional manner both in-person and through written communication with fans of all ages, sponsors, game day guests and on occasion, players
  • Must have the ability to handle and coordinate large groups of people in a secure and sensitive area
  • Attention to details, discretion and organization skills are a must
  • Must have a flexible work schedule that will allow intern to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Initiative and the ability to work on your own a must
