Genesis Open Tournament interns are significant resources to TGR Live and the TGR Foundation and are essential to the success of the Genesis Open. Tournament interns will be exposed to all facets of tournament and event management operations in preparation for the 2019 Genesis Open to be held February 11-17 at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA. Positions are open to undergraduate, graduate students, and recent graduates (sports marketing and business majors preferred, but not required.) Applicants must: be willing to work weekends and the entire week of February 11-17 expect to work approximately 25-40 hours/week (early mornings, late nights, weekends); work efficiently under pressure and work on several projects simultaneously prioritizing time-sensitive projects; take initiative and operate proactively in project management and problem solving; be organized with attention to detail and follow through; be comfortable working both in office and on-course environments; have excellent oral and written communications skills; be proficient in MS Office; be a team player; be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA. Payment: All positions are paid on a stipend. No phone calls please. TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS: Assist with the day-to-day management of Tournament Headquarters. The ideal candidate must work efficiently under pressure, and balance multiple responsibilities while being organized; must exhibit excellent oral and written communications skills; and must be comfortable working in a team environment. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversee a well-organized Tournament HQ; manage supply inventory Answering phones to address general tournament inquiries in a professional manner Manage mail deliveries including incoming and outgoing shipping and receiving (FedEx, UPS, USPS, Tournament Warehouse) and maintain relationship with service personnel and volunteers Manage computer and telephone equipment and escalate issues to appropriate staff and/or vendors when applicable Secure and coordinate tournament food donations or trades for staff and volunteers in advance week of the tournament Assist with creating and distributing approved credential badges during tournament week Assist with tournament services projects such as uniform ordering and distribution and event set-up support as needed Assist with daily tournament activities as assigned (e.g., HQ admin, answering phones, and miscellaneous tasks) START/END DATE: Monday, January 7 – Friday, February 22
