Athletic Training Career Opportunities

Gannon University, a Catholic university invites applications for two full-time positions in the Athletic Training department, one of which is newly created. Gannon's athletic program includes 22 varsity sports, in which 18 sports compete at the NCAA Division II level. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.

Assistant Athletic Trainer : Provide preventative care, rehabilitation and athletic trainer services for all Varsity/JV contests and practices for intercollegiate sports. Serve as primary liaison to academic departments, directing and supervising graduate assistant athletic trainers, athletic training students and work study students. Qualifications: a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine or a related field (master's preferred); NATABOC certification; Commonwealth of Pennsylvania license that is active and in good standing or eligible for PA licensure. A minimum of one-to-three years of experience preferred.

Certified Athletic Trainer Intern : Provide preventative care, rehabilitation and athletic trainer services for all competitions and practices for intercollegiate sports. Administer and organize athletic training services for student-athletes; participate collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff to promote the general well-being of the department and University, and collective and individual interest of its staff and student body. Qualifications: graduation from a CAATE-accredited undergraduate or professional master's program; NATABOC certification; active and good standing Commonwealth of Pennsylvania license or eligible for Pennsylvania licensure. This position is intended for new graduates in the profession of Athletic Training looking for experience.
