SUMMARY The National Hockey League is seeking a Marketing Manager to assist in the development & execution of its media strategy, planning and reporting of marketing initiatives and campaigns to support the NHL brand, events & products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES This position will: · Work with internal departments & business units to develop media plans supporting their marketing & business objectives. · Manage the NHL’s media inventory across all platforms for marketing messages/initiatives, including: creation of media plans & inventory allocations for different NHL campaigns, distribution of media plans, flowcharts & reports to internal and external stakeholders, updating of media units, impression levels & values, working collaboratively with the NHL's social media, CRM/database marketing & editorial/content teams. · Work with the NHL’s rightsholders (NBC, Fox Sports, Rogers, etc) and NHL media properties (NHL.com, NHL Network) to integrate League messaging within the editorial/content of live games, studio programming and digital/social media platforms. · Manage the trafficking process of advertising materials & production files (TV, radio, digital, print, etc) to national and local media companies across the US, Canada and international countries. · Negotiate local media buys and partnerships to support NHL events (e.g. Winter Classic, All-Star, Stadium Series, etc) – working collaboratively with the NHL Events & Sales departments and aligning efforts with the local club. · Oversee the monitoring & affidavit reporting of all media inventory. · Support the marketing department in all other day-to-day responsibilities & duties. QUALIFICATIONS The qualified applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and experience in media planning or advertising is preferred. Candidate with experience with Ad Ops software is a plus. Knowledge & understanding of hockey is a plus. The successful candidate for the role will have the ability to work and adapt in a fast-paced environment, be detail oriented with strong analytical skills and have strong written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a career interest in marketing and an eagerness to develop within the sports industry. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
