Job summary:

This position will develop and oversee the brand’s communication and public relations strategy to support and improve the image of Drive Shack. The individual will work closely with the Head of Marketing and site management teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop PR and communications strategies around key Drive Shack brand initiatives such as brand campaigns, site openings, brand-specific programs and activities
  • Lead the creation and execution of global brand PR planning
  • Collaborate with teams to prove that brand priorities are clearly communicated and that programming and messaging are aligned globally
  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking business placements, features and interviews in print, broadcast, trade and digital media
  • Work with internal stakeholders across the organization to identify compelling stories that align with business objectives and key messages
  • Contribute written content to internal and external communications materials (press releases, social content, media training, etc
  • Secure high-level speaking opportunities for senior management; support presentation materials
  • Drive awareness for community relations in key regions; work cross-functionally with local team leads to promote relevant events; bolster local media coverage to drive brand awareness
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to drive employer brand awareness through external communication channels including earned media, social media, awards, and speaking opportunities
  • Build and deliver PR presentations as needed
  • Write professional web and press material to maintain brand messaging
  • Release information to counter negative publicity and handle crisis and emergency communications
  • Anticipate needs, support, and develop Drive Shack’s culture and community through a range of communications channels
  • Monitor, analyze, and recap PR results on a monthly and quarterly basis

    Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment for you and your employees at all times; understand and enforce safe work practices in a fair and consistent fashion
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

    Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years marketing experience, cruise line, theme park, hotel, or sports background a plus
  • Experience in public affairs and media relations on a national/international level
  • Agency experience is a plus
  • APR certification preferred or Business to Business (B2B) public relations experience
  • Public speaking, marketing communications, and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a public company or investor relations
