Oversee the day-to-day communications and media relations for all 18 NCAA Division I sports under the supervision of the Associate Athletics Director for External Relations. Serve as the Sports Information Director for men's basketball and other assigned programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.This individual performs the role of an internal beat reporter, focusing on telling compelling stories in written, video, social media, graphics or other innovative formats in collaboration with team members of the external unit. 2.Responsible for interviewing, training, evaluation, coaching, professional development, and oversight of Director of Sports Information and Assistant Director of Sports Information. 3.Manage and maintain the athletics department website. Write and edit various department communication materials, including postseason publications, press releases, game notes, record books and content for the department's website. 4.Work closely with athletics marketing staff to promote stories of the department through digital and social media platforms. 5.Develop and write, both in news and feature form, press releases about the coaches and student-athletes and disseminate this information to the media and to the public via the athletics website and social media platforms in an effort to publicize teams. 6.Oversee nominations and promotion of student-athletes and coaches for awards. 7.Maintain historical records, statistics and photographs among other important department information. 8.Provide support for television, radio, and streaming broadcasts of games and events as needed for the athletics department. 9.Responsible for oversight and management of Media Relations department budget. 10.Coordinate the student intern program and game day staffing. 11.Travel with teams when deemed appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises Director of Sports Information and Assistant Sports Information Director. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

? Ability and proficiency in Adobe Design Suite (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite and StatCrew software.
? Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
? Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions, and judgments on sensitive issues.
? Basic knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices.
? Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
? Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
? Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

? Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
