The VP, Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

About the Job

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Maintain an orderly chart of accounts and accounting filing system
  • Manage the annual audit to ensure an accurate and comprehensive audit is complete--meeting all deadlines and requirements of our lenders, owners, and other constituents. Also, manage the relationship with our auditors to ensure a productive and positive working relationship
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Provide timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting for senior management, our owners, and lenders
  • Prepare and submit all required compliance information
  • Oversee accounts payable, sales and income tax, payroll, treasury, financial reporting and operational accounting, ensuring that these processes occur accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Build, inspire, and manage a high performing team

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations, required
